ABOUT
Dylan Lindquist (aka Mark Dylan) is a composer, producer, sound designer and creative educator based in Australia working across music, visual media and artist development. Blending organic instrumentation with detailed electronic production, his work focuses on emotion, texture and building immersive sonic worlds that feel both human and cinematic.
With a background spanning songwriting, live performance and sound design education, Dylan has built a multidisciplinary practice that moves fluidly between artist records, commercial composition and creative content. He currently teaches music production and sound design while also working closely with emerging artists to help shape distinctive sonic identities through collaborative writing and production sessions.
As an artist and producer, Dylan’s work has received rotation across Triple J, Double J and community radio throughout Australia, the UK and the US. Through his electronic project SOFT NYLON, he has developed a reputation for emotionally driven remixes and textured indie/electronic production, alongside collaborations with artists including Eves Karydas.
Alongside artist work, Dylan has composed and produced music for visual media and brands including campaigns and sync placements with SurfStitch, the City of Gold Coast and programming featured on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. His creative approach draws equally from live instrumentation and digital experimentation, often combining guitar, bass and keys with manipulated textures, layered atmospheres and detailed sound design.
Whether composing for film, television, advertising, games or developing records with artists, Dylan is driven by the feeling that happens when sound, image and emotion finally lock together into something cohesive.
Outside the studio, he’s usually testing unfinished ideas in the car with his kids before deciding whether a track is actually done.
